Tom Barclay 2

Tom Barclay BSc, MRICS, ACIH, MBA
Chief Executive

Tom was appointed as the Associations Chief Executive in October 2005.

Prior to that Tom was based with Cunninghame Housing Association where he was Head of Housing and Community Services.   In 1993, Tom was introduced to Social Housing when he joined the then Springburn and Possilpark Housing Association (now North Glasgow Housing Association), where he gained early experience within the sector as part of an expanding development team.  Prior to that, Tom worked in the construction industry as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, with experience both in private practice and contracting.

Tom graduated from Caledonian University with a BSC in Quantity Surveying and from the University of Glasgow Business School with a Masters in Business Administration (with Distinction).

He is also an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing and recently been appointed to the CIH Board and is the Social Housing and Environmental Spokesperson for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

 

 

Stuart MacKenzie

Head of Housing Services

Stewart was appointed as the Association's Head of Housing Services in September 2007.

Stewart has been a housing professional for over 20 years. He has worked for a number of organisations across central and southern Scotland, operating in a range of roles including housing management, strategy and development. In recent years, Stewart has been involved in a number of ambitious stock transfer, regeneration and development initiatives.

Stewart graduated from the University of Glasgow with a Diploma in Housing Studies and from Glasgow Caledonian University with a Master in Business Administration. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing, as well as a Member of the Chartered Management Institute.

 

 

John Turnbull

John has worked in the development field for 11 years and has acquired extensive experience of new build and rehabilitation projects and innovative working with contractors and consultants.

John was Development Officer with Thenew Housing Association (1992-2000), and joined Clyde Valley as Project Services Manager in February 2000.  John has provided a range of development services to other housing organisations.  His current role also includes the supervision of Clyde Valley's Care & Repair in North Lanarkshire Service. 

John graduated from Stirling University with a BA in 1989 and a Diploma in Housing in 1991.

 

Shirley MacDonald Head of Finance

Head of Finance

Shirley was appointed as the Associations Head of Finance in February 2007.

Shirley has had a variety of finance roles within the NHS, in various Health Boards and NHS Trusts. Shirley left the NHS in 1999 to join the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) where she was involved in various finance projects and was the Head of the team responsible for developing SEPA charging schemes and generating 50 % of the organisations revenue.

Shirley became a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians in 1989 and qualified as a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in 1994.

 

David Anderson Head of Technical Services

Head of Technical Services

David was appointed as the Associations Head of Technical Services in February 2007.

David has 18 years senior management experience in private and public sector property related organisations and has been heavily involved in housing development and regeneration in West Central Scotland for the past 20 years.

Most recently David worked in South Lanarkshire Council where he undertook a variety of roles, which included managing the multi disciplinary teams responsible for developing and delivering the Council’s ambitious major repairs and development investment programmes.

David graduated from Glasgow University with a Diploma in Architecture in 1985 and is due to complete a Diploma in Housing later this year.

David is also an active member of RIAS Council, a Housing Association Board Member and current secretary of SCALA (Society of Chief Architects in Local Authority) Scotland.
