What is the New Supply Shared Equity Scheme?

New Supply Shared Equity is a scheme targeted at low-income households to assist them into owner occupation.  The scheme is part of the Scottish Government LIFT Initiative, the Low-cost Initiative for First-Time Buyers

The customer buys a share or equity, generally between 60% and 80% of the property value. Properties are to be sold to those who qualify within the 60% to 80% threshold unless, in very exceptional circumstances, this may be reduced to 51%.

Customers do not pay rent or an occupancy fee to Clyde Valley Housing Association but there would be a factoring charge.

Who qualifies?

When dealing with applications Clyde Valley Housing Association will give priority to the following groups: -

  • First time buyers
  • Customers on Social Landlord waiting lists
  • Customers living in private rented accommodation
  • Customers living with family/friends

In exceptional circumstances existing owners may be able to purchase a property.
