Right To Compensation For Improvements

The Right To Compensation For Improvements gives tenant the right to receive compensation for certain works (or qualifying improvements) that they carried out to their home during the course of the tenancy, should they end their tenancy with the Association.

The Housing (Scotland) Act 2001 introduced the tenant's Right to Compensation for Improvements from 30 September 2002.

The legal reference is the Scottish Secure Tenants (Compensation for Improvements) Regulations 2002 (Scottish Statutory Instrument 2002/312).
